Adrian is the Senior Vice President of Engineering with Xperi responsible for leading DTS AutoSense – the company’s in-cabin sensing product line. He is also the general manager of Xperi’ R&D facility in Bucharest.

Adrian has two decades of experience in the space of computer vision and edge AI. He led global technology development, product management and customer engineering teams and developed a track record of deploying edge computer vision applications on consumer products such as smart cameras, smartphones, and smart cars.

Adrian has over 40 granted and published US patents in computer vision and computational imaging.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Imaging & Artificial Intelligence and his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politehnica University of Bucharest.

With 30 year of automotive experiences in passive and active safety systems. The passive safety components include airbag crash sensors, seat belt tension sensor, seat weight sensor, occupant classification with personalized restraints, seat belt controller, engine fire suppression & prevention. The active safety components are Driving Monitoring System (DMS) with attentiveness and drowsiness detections, Interior Viewing Camera (IVC) for video streaming, In-Cabin Radar Sensing (ICSR) for child left behind, Occupant Monitoring System (OMS), and In-Cabin Monitoring System (IMS) to optimize the vehicle safety, user experience, and security performance. The future project is to integrate and fuse the exterior vision and radar based sensing data to DMS to predict and provide the potential inattentive driver for driving safety.

Her team is responsible for the development of algorithms and models to address some of the most pressing issues facing occupant safety today. Previous roles include leading the advanced engineering of industry-first vision features at an OEM, LiDAR design and development, as well as vehicle and product launch. Caroline holds a BSME from Kettering University and is currently completing her MBA with a data science concentration at the University of Michigan.

Erez joined Cipia in 2012, employing his rich experience for mapping and optimizing Cipia’s computer vision AI algorithms to various architectures including DSPs, GPU, and ARM platforms. Erez quickly rose within the ranks, leading core development projects, and assuming the position of Chief Architect. Since 2017, Erez has been serving as VP Research & Development. Erez joined Cipia after 10 years at Freescale Semiconductor (Previously Motorola Semiconductor), where he managed a global team of 25 developers, and was responsible for various DSP Systems activities, including the DSP Video Software vertical and DSP Baseband software. Erez holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University.

Michael A. Nees is an Associate Professor and directs the Human Factors, Perception, and Cognition Lab in the Department of Psychology at Lafayette College. He was awarded a Ph.D. in psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. His research interests include human interactions with automation, auditory perception and auditory interface design, and assistive technologies. He teaches courses on human factors and engineering psychology, perception, statistics and research design, and disabilities and assistive technology. He also provides consulting services for user needs analysis, usability, and accessibility. Professor Nees taught previously at Spelman College and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Georgia Tech. He also worked previously as a research scientist at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center and as a consultant for clinical research trials.

Currently as Chief Science & Innovation Officer he leads Seeing Machines human factors, machine intelligence and advanced engineering teams that research, design and develop our next generation technologies. Working with government, industry and global policy groups he promotes operator state monitoring technology, making the world’s roads and skies safer. Tomas Geurts received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, in 1999. Tomas worked at AnSem and in 2004 he joined FillFactory which was later acquired by onsemi where he held various leadership roles in the image sensor division until he took on a role as CTO for the industrial sensing division. Tomas played a lead role bringing LOFIC technology to maturity for cinematography and automotive applications. Since May 2021, he is a Sr. Director at the OMNIVISION Belgium R&D center and a member of the office of the CTO.

Now, He has 10+ years’ experience in ADAS camera development including project management, perception development and application development.
