From Lab to Fab ‘Assembly and testing of optical components for LiDAR sensors in prototyping and serial production

This paper outlines examples from the early development of processes for passive and active alignment as well as for testing of the optical systems and results from prototype manufacturing of product validation samples for LiDAR systems. With the same metrology, control algorithms, and software tools developed for assembly and testing in the prototype stage, scaling up of serial production was secured using these proven building blocks for serial production without changing technology, or basic equipment.
