AutoSens heads to Detroit, USA in May each year, then to its flagship event in Brussels, Belgium during September. The event heads to Hong Kong in November 2020.
As ADAS improves at a rapid rate and autonomous vehicles edge closer to mainstream production, it is more important than ever for engineers to raise their heads and participate in industry-wide knowledge sharing and discussion. AutoSens enjoyed incredible support from senior engineers at OEM and Tier 1 companies. The community extended to business leaders from the full supply chain as well as leading academics, and technical experts in the various component fields.
As the automotive sector enters a new age of electronics integration, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are becoming ever more integrated. Vehicles are gathering more and more knowledge about their external environment via cameras, LiDAR, radar and ultrasonic sensors and in-built intelligence is using that data to make informed decisions and take action to improve safety and increase efficiency. Advances in computer vision, image processing, in-car networking and other elements are making these systems even more powerful.
However, many of these devices were not initially developed for automotive use, so adaptation of the hardware, calibration, testing, performance optimisation, environmental resistance and other relevant factors, all have to be taken into account to create systems that are optimised for integration into production vehicles. These are the challenges faced by today’s ADAS engineers as the automotive industry works towards the autonomous vehicles of the future.
Best practice, shared challenges, standardisation, innovation and supply chain collaboration are all discussed via a series of presentations and chaired panel discussions in three separate tracks.
Mixed networking and breaks and evening receptions provide an ideal opportunity for meeting your peers, discussing proceedings, and connecting with new suppliers and customers.
