Simulation is the only feasible way of subjecting autonomous vehicles to the variety of scenarios presented by the real world. rFpro has created a new single integrated simulation solution to train, test and validate AVs. The new features include; scenario definition and controller to automatically vary and scale testing, the integration of high fidelity sensor and vehicle models and High Performance Computing (HPC) capability to massively scale testing. The presentation will showcase how the solution is being used to advance vehicle perception development, reduce the reliance on real-world data collection and explore the requirements and challenges of developing high-quality training data.
