This session provides an overview of the latest lidar architectures and components driving widespread adoption of autonomous driving capabilities. The presenter explores how solid-state lidar designs like MEMS, optical phased arrays and FMCW are enabling more compact, reliable and affordable solutions suitable for integration across vehicle models and locations. Advanced semiconductor innovations, including specialized laser drivers, transimpedance amplifiers and high-speed ADCs, are enhancing lidar performance with longer range, higher resolution and reduced power consumption for superior environmental perception. Moreover, sensor fusion combining lidar with complementary technologies such as cameras and radar is creating reliable, accurate environmental mapping. With advancements in lidar, automakers are implementing advanced driver assistance and autonomous functions across a broader range of vehicles while meeting stringent safety requirements and improving driver control in diverse conditions. Attendees will gain valuable insights into these cutting-edge technologies helping to transform the shift toward autonomous mobility.
