Laura Shane, Kodiak Robotics’ Head of Sensors, will discuss how Kodiak designed, tested, and built its SensorPods, its sensor solution designed for real-world autonomous trucking applications. The session will cover the different hardware and sensing needs of autonomous trucks vs. passenger cars, and talk about how Kodiak’s testing program is preparing our hardware for deployment. This talk will cover sensor field-of-view requirements for trucks, as well as the specific maintenance needs of commercial motor vehicles. Lastly, Laura will discuss her views on how to design a sensor suite for manufacturability and the commercial vehicle duty cycle.
