Driven by the wish for more safety in unavoidable crash events this presentation will show, how intelligent restraint systems can be controlled via occupant perception technologies and increase occupant safety in a wider range of possible crash scenarios including future test scenarios as proposed in the EuroNCAP roadmap 2030.
On the one hand it will be highlighted how existing and next generation restraint actuators can be enhanced by taking advantage of interior and exterior sensor information to expand their full potential. On the other hand, this presentation is focusing on camera based occupant classification systems as a key technology to enable intelligent restraint systems.
It will be outlined why and how intelligent restraint systems will become reality, already in the next few years, by taking a closer look at
Latest concepts on adaptive restraint actuators
Requirement framework for occupant monitoring in adaptive restraint systems
Perception technologies in focus for adaptive restraint systems
Latest results on body perception based on interior cameras
Outlook on adaptive restraint control
