How to ensure functional safety of DNNs is still an open question. This presentation will look at the development steps of DNNs, i.e., Define, Specify, Develop and Evaluate, and Deploy and Monitor from a functional safety perspective. For each step, we discuss what safety artefacts are needed to set up the safety case. We also talk about strategies such as redundancy and ensemble concepts at architectural level to enable the overall system to meet the safety requirements.
