Driving the Evolution of LiDAR and Automotive Sensors with Silicone

Event: AutoSens Detroit
, 2020
Shin-Etsu Silicones is one of the global leaders in silicone manufacturing. In response to the growing sensor market, Shin-Etsu developed a new black encapsulant (AIR series) that blocks visible light and allows high transparency in the IR range. We also offer UV curable, optically clear potting gels and adhesives for VCSELs and photodetectors that can absorb all the stress of the package. Shin-Etsu Silicones is also improving long-term reliability of LiDAR devices and automotive sensors with Thermal Interface Materials known as TIM. Shin-Etsu has a full product line of liquid dispensable thermally conductive gap fillers (SDP series), pre-cured gels (CLG), adhesives, along with soft/hard pads and phase change materials. These TIM products range in thermal conductivity from 1-10 W/mK.
