Emerging display technologies like HUDs, OLED, and MicroLED are revolutionizing the in-cabin experience—but also raising new challenges. As screen sizes grow and form factors evolve (e.g., transparent, rollable, or holographic displays), the complexity of delivering intuitive, delightful user experiences increases. With the display supply chain transforming quickly, next-gen displays require deeper collaboration between suppliers, HMI developers, UX designers, and OEM engineers. This talk argues that hardware innovation alone isn’t enough. To prevent these advancements from becoming “just another headache,” we must prioritize cross-functional teamwork to address power efficiency, deployment speed, content visibility, and user interaction across radically new display types. The goal: to integrate cutting-edge tech in a way that balances innovation with usability, avoids digital overwhelm, and reinvigorates the cabin experience. By working together, we can turn display innovation into a catalyst for software breakthroughs and driver delight—not confusion.
