LiDAR adoption is accelerating worldwide—but with very different approaches. In China, over 150 vehicle models now ship with LiDAR as standard or optional equipment, driven by a mix of regulation, competitive dynamics, and rapid hardware innovation. In the U.S., deployment remains selective and slower paced, shaped by differing business models, safety frameworks, and long product cycles.

This session offers a perspective informed by direct experience in both markets. It examines how LiDAR scaled so rapidly in China, why that model doesn’t fully translate to the U.S., and where new opportunities are emerging as OEMs rethink their sensor strategies.

Instead of focusing on specs or hype, we’ll explore what really moves adoption forward: system integration, supply chain alignment, and shifting value definitions in ADAS. For engineers and decision-makers alike, understanding the gap between volume and value is critical to shaping what comes next.
