Automotive-semiconductor revenue is on track to nearly double to around $130 billion by 2030 even though car sales growth will remain modest. The surge is powered by three trends: electrified powertrains that adopt SiC and GaN devices for 800V- 1,000V architectures; new safety rules that push affordable ADAS in every car model and 5nm zone controllers that are emerging; and phone-like cockpits hungry for bandwidth, memory and AI compute. Five long-time suppliers still capture roughly half the market, but U.S. compute specialists, fast-rising Chinese fabs and chip-making carmakers are closing the gap fast.
