Automotive OEMs expect that sensors used in safety-critical applications are designed to meet the requirements of the ISO 26262 Functional Safety standard. In addition, sensors used for autonomous driving use cases, need to consider ISO 21448 Safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF) standard in their design. This talk will compare the two standards and discuss NVIDIA’s approach to addressing both standards. Also to be discussed are the expectations on deliverables from sensor suppliers to show compliance with the standards.
