The lack of common sense and human connection at the inception of the recent efforts in commercial AV development have resulted in significant commercial, societal, and industrial investments that are unlikely to be fully realized. However, it is not too late to recognize the missing elements and realize valuable opportunities for truly safe and ethical deployment of commercial AV products that improve our quality of life without compromising our core values. In this presentation, we take away the technical jargon and have a frank, heart-to-heart conversation that makes a very challenging problem a little simpler and more understandable. In this context, we point out to what we believe to be a self-evident path forward to safe, ethical AV deployment.
