Autonomy customers are defining various use cases including low speed manoeuvring and parking. Software defined radar sensors can adapt to work in many applications, changing measurement and signal processing performance according to the use case. Radar sensors are the “last sensors standing” under adverse weather conditions and as such are a must for any L2+ and higher system. When data fusion of multiple radar sensors is applied, the radar sensors must have certain features for achieving the best fusion performance. When the radar data are combined with other sensor (i.e. camera, ultrasonic etc.) data, for an optimum sensor fusion the radar system must bring specific features and interfaces. This session will explore these facets in detail.
