CEO,

ASAM e.V.

The OpenX domain of ASAM e.V. is an industry-driven approach to standardizing tools, formats, protocols, and methods for simulation and testing of ADAS and automated driving systems. The collaboration across vendor boundaries is central to the industry in its effort to establish powerful tool chains and testing strategies.

In this presentation, we aim to take a closer look at the impact of the ASAM OpenX standards on the quantification of tool and product quality – starting from the definition of the Operational Design Domain to the very granular representation of road surfaces. We will also look at the effects which the pace and process of standards development may have on an individual standard’s acceptance and implementation. Finally, we will highlight the need for unified and publicly available test suites and reference implementations as guarantors for high-quality, standards-compliant applications.
