In spite of a temporary slowdown in the automotive market, the pace of innovation is expected to pick up as the long term trends that were evident before will only accelerate. One of such trends is flattening, and therefore opening of the automotive ecosystem as more fabless companies enter this exciting market with highly differentiated products. Foundries are starting to play even more prominent role with their high volume automotive manufacturing capabilities and high value analog technologies. In this talk, we will give an overview of how Tower Semiconductor is bringing market driven technologies from methodology to mass production, using a high performance solid-state Lidar product as a case study.
