A new wave of Lidar search by automotive OEMs is ongoing and integration is getting particular attention. Functionality, operating conditions, NCAP detection cases, EOLT, aftermarket, … are all factors that influence the choice of lidar and it’s position.
The headlight (and taillight) Lidar integration profits from early detection and brings some specific challenges. This paper presents the advantages and disadvantages based on simulated and experimental project results.
