Thermal & Radar Fused System Improves AEB

Event: AutoSens Online
, 2020

In this talk learn how current NCAP AEB tests in darkness do not represent real-world scenarios where deaths and injuries are occurring. Late last year FLIR conducted preliminary tests to demonstrate how thermal cameras improve AEB, especially in low-light and dark conditions. FLIR is taking steps to improve upon this work by fusing visible, thermal, and radar sensors for superior AEB. FLIR will discuss additional tests using NCAP procedures to rate the effectiveness of existing visible and radar fused AEB systems as compared to adding a thermal camera with a fused CNN.
