Presenting a new approach to geometric camera calibration at infinity using a beam expanded laser in combination with a diffractive optical element (DOE). The GEOCAL is a more robust and compact solution that does not rely on traditional test charts, patterns, or relay lenses, but is capable of providing an even more accurate camera calibration.

Geometric camera calibration is essential for measuring distance, detecting objects, compensating for high distortion levels, and accurately aligning stereo camera pairs in wide field of view cameras such as those found in ADAS systems.
