Connected vehicle technology is quickly becoming standard in modern vehicles, and there is no doubt that connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) will continue to improve and develop, and expand their prevalence on public roads. However, before this becomes reality, security and trustworthiness of autonomous vehicles and surrounding infrastructure must be established.

Thankfully, regulatory changes are afoot, and cannot be ignored by manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive industry. While many companies in the automotive sector have mapped out a timeline to ensure that vehicles will be compliant with the regulatory changes, the standard is extensive and complex, meaning collaboration and cooperation will be imperative.

This talk will focus on the UNECE regulations from the WP.29 working party, its requirements for a Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) as well as other requirements for type approval, and what this means for the future of the automotive industry.
