Snow-aware ADAS with Active Hyperspectral Sensing

Event: AutoSens Brussels
| Session date: Wednesday 18th September
Session date: Wednesday 18th September
, 2019
We’ll describe during the presentation how AHS can improve safety and ergonomics of ACC/AEB functions by introducing variable braking distance based on remotely-measured coefficient of friction. We will use the example of real-time Snow detection and explore different alternatives for scalable and low-cost solutions to radically enhance safety of ADAS L1 Systems. Demonstration of the capability tested on the field will be displayed. Finally, we’ll show how these capabilities can be combined with other perception means to increase the efficiency and relevancy of the AHS output, and to build a completely new level of real-time Situation Awareness.
