| ASAM (Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems) is an international organization developing standardized protocols/specifications for automotive testing, simulation, data management to ensure interoperability/efficiency across tools and systems in the automotive industry. This presentation focuses on standardization efforts in automotive testing with a particular focus on the ASAM TestSpecification, which aims to create a holistic approach to test specification across different environments and techniques. The motivation for the ASAM TestSpecification stems from the need to address the challenges of modern automotive testing, such as the increased complexity of use cases, SiL/HiL testing, and the growing reliance on simulation techniques. Scenario-based testing has become essential for validating the safety of automated and autonomous vehicles. To achieve efficient and consistent testing across multiple platforms, manufacturers and suppliers require a standardized approach that allows for reusability of test artifacts and seamless interoperability between different tool chains. Throughout this initiative relevant existing standards will be extended to better cater to new testing requirements- potentially leading to the development of new standards to help fill the gap. |
