Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads!
Abbie has spent the last 15 years working on rovers for the Moon and Mars. These rovers have to go to their destination and fulfil their mission with no human maintenance, and often without even having humans in communication. There are no maps, no roads, no GPS, no road signs, and no other vehicles. As such, their autonomy and the autonomy that we use in terrestrial autonomous cars has some parallels, but many differences. Is there anything that the terrestrial autonomy systems could learn from their space counterparts, or vice versa?  How do you navigate in an environment that we’ve never seen before?
