About Dr. Arunesh Roy
Dr. Arunesh Roy serves as Uhnder’s senior director for advanced applications and perception, leading the definition of the feature set and performance specifications for automotive radar signal processing algorithms used in ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) and autonomous driving solutions. He and his team develop new radar system concepts and signal processing algorithms, such as for multi-target tracking and the fusion of sensor domains.
Dr. Roy has architected several Uhnder products used today in automated driving, ADAS, traffic monitoring and traffic surveillance systems. He is well-known for his work on automated methods for extrinsic calibration of sensors with dissimilar resolutions, such as radars, cameras (EO and IR), as well as sensor fusion and SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping algorithms) for multi-sensor data collected from UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).
Prior to joining Uhnder in 2018, Dr. Roy held senior engineering positions with NXP and Oculii, where he focused on radar algorithm and signal processing architectures, approaches, and developmental techniques.
Arunesh earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from Wright State University in Ohio. He holds several patents for technology related to radar architectures, signal processing and sensor fusion for cameras, and radar for multi-target tracking.
