Senior Principal Product Management - Physical AI
Dr. Safiei is Senior Principal Product Management – Physical AI at Black Semiconductor, where he leads product strategy for next-generation graphene photonics and optical interconnect solutions for Automotive, Robotics, and Edge computing. He is also responsible for cross-functional product readiness, reliability, and quality governance, bridging technology development with customer requirements and industrialization.
Before joining Black Semiconductor, Dr. Safiei spent more than 15 years in the automotive industry, including leadership roles at Volkswagen Group and CARIAD, where he led global engineering organizations and semiconductor strategy for software-defined vehicles, ADAS, and high-performance computing platforms.
He holds a Ph.D. in Semiconductor Electronics from RWTH Aachen University. Combining deep expertise in semiconductors, system engineering, and automotive, Dr. Safiei focuses on translating emerging technologies into scalable, reliable products and enabling the next generation of high-bandwidth, energy-efficient computing and communication systems.
