Uncertainty and Locality in the Performance of ADAS and AD Systems
Wednesday 8th October | 11:55am CEST | Auditorium
The deployment of vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) capabilities reveals critical challenges, particularly when operating across diverse geographical and environmental conditions. These subtleties, often overlooked, can significantly impact system behaviour and safety. At the core of this issue lies the perception system, whose performance—and associated uncertainty—directly influences decision-making and vehicle control. This presentation offers a practitioner’s perspective on how uncertainty and locality affect the reliable and acceptable deployment of intelligent vehicles in real-world settings.
