About Changan US R&D Center

The Changan US R&D Center, Inc. is an American based company, 100% owned by Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. On January 18, 2011, Changan US R&D Center, Inc. officially held its grand opening ceremony in Detroit, America’s “Motor City”. The Changan US R&D Center, Inc. is the first research and development center ever established by a Chinese automotive OEM in Michigan. Changan established its first overseas R&D center in Turin, Italy in 2005, followed shortly thereafter by a similar one in Yokohama, Japan. In June 2010, an R&D center was established in Nottingham, UK, and now complimented with the new R&D center in US. With other locations in Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing, Harbin and Jiangxi of China, Changan has successfully built a global R&D system of “nine locations in five countries, each with its own focus” across Asia, Europe and North America.
