22-25 May 2017 – Detroit, MI USA
In Spring 2017 AutoSens went across the Atlantic to America’s automotive heartland, Detroit. The M1 Concourse was a unique and memorable venue, incorporating a 1.5 mile racetrack, showrooms and event facilities, this was the perfect spot for AutoSens’s mix of conference and track-side experiences.

The City: Why Detroit?
Detroit is the centre of the American automotive industry, and despite some challenging times in recent history, the region is under a period of strong regeneration and investment. The global automotive sector has undergone a revolution driven by alternative power train and electronics integration. Where else would we have held the first US edition of AutoSens, the world’s premier vehicle perception meeting place?
We work closely with local OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, many of who are involved in the Advisory Board as well as building relationships with local and regional government, societies and industry associations, and other stakeholders in the area.
AutoSens was hosted at the brand new M1 Concourse development, near to Pontiac, the perfect venue for petrol heads and self-driving experts alike. The event attracts an international audience, Detroit has excellent transport links for both US and global travellers.
In addition, as the home of some of the world’s oldest and most famous car marques, we were lucky to be surrounded by several world class museums and exhibitions, and in true AutoSens style, we made the most of these displays to enhance our attendees event experience.
Detroit isn’t just the home of car making in the US, it’s also the home of Motown music. Recently the city has received a revitalised downtown area with much more to offer. We were very proud and excited to be in Michigan for the inaugural US edition of AutoSens.
