Valens will Showcase their Advanced Time Synchronisation and Diagnostics
Advanced time synchronization
The Valens VA7000, which complies with the MIPI A-PHY standard for high-speed sensor connectivity, offers the most advanced time synchronization capabilities on the market. With extremely accurate clock and frame sync, the chipset also includes an embedded Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) with less than 100 nanoseconds of jitter. Valens will be showcasing interframe synchronization of sensors and light sources – critical for multi-sensory solutions from ADAS to interior sensing. The embedded synchronization functionality in VA7000 eliminates the need for board-level implementations, such as an FPGA or CPLD, reducing overall system cost and complexity.
Diagnostics
Problems with cabling can lead to costly teardowns of the camera, ECU, and eventually the wire harness – all in attempt to locate and fix the issue. Competing SerDes solutions provide basic information – real-time monitoring of the physical integrity of shorts and opens, allowing for quick go/no go decisions at assembly. Valens takes this a step further. At AutoSens, we will demonstrate how the VA7000 chipset’s performance monitoring & diagnostics while the link is active, allowing for continuous vehicle monitoring to detect early signs of potential failures. In addition, we’ll spotlight the chipset’s advanced diagnostics, measuring shorts, opens, and impedance, and providing an indication of the location of the fault along the cable channel, with high resolution (+/- 20cm).

Experience the First Optical Camera System, built by KD
Cameras in cars use optical sensors—but did you know they still send all that data through electrical cables?
At KD, they thought: why not go all-optical? That’s why they built the first optical camera system for vehicles. Make sure you check out their live demo: video data from the camera gets encapsulated with IEEE 1722, travels over 25 meters of bend-insensitive fiber, and arrives crystal-clear on display. It’s fast, it’s clean, and it’s the next step for automotive vision.
